The Bureau of Customs (B0C) and other government agencies launched the Enhanced e-Travel System last Tuesday to create a more efficient and secure travel experience for all travelers.

In a statement yesterday, the BOC said the enhanced system includes the generation of a single QR code for each passenger that covers requirements related to customs, immigration, quarantine, migrant workers and tourism.

“This allows for a more seamless clearance process, minimizing wait times and reducing the need for multiple forms and checkpoints,” the BOC said.

Another key feature of the enhanced system is the seaport/cruise form.

This simplifies and accelerates the registration process at seaports and cruise terminals, providing convenience for all travelers.

Since its inception in December 2022, the e-Travel system has been continuously improved, the BOC said.

As part of their ongoing efforts, the Department of Information and Communications Technology has collaborated with the BOC and the Department of Migrant Workers to establish key features, including the Customs Baggage Declaration Form, Currency Declaration Form and the Overseas Employment Certificate.

“Ultimately, the system benefits multiple stakeholders by streamlining travel processes and easing airport congestion. It advances inter-agency coordination by enabling real-time data sharing and enhancing the monitoring of travel flows,” the BOC said.

“This improved data integration supports national security measures and aids in public health risk management by ensuring timely and accurate information for all relevant authorities,” the agency added.
