BDO Capital is PH’s Project Finance House

BDO Capital & Investment Corp. was recognized as the Philippines’ Project Finance House of the Year for the seventh time at The Asset Triple A Sustainable Infrastructure Awards 2024.

The accolade highlights BDO Capital’s outstanding track record in arranging financing for significant projects in industries such as energy and transportation, which are critical to the country’s economic growth.

BDO Capital also received the Renewable Energy Deal of the Year award for its role as mandated lead arranger and bookrunner for SMGP BESS Power Inc.’s  P40- billion syndicated term loan facility. This financing supported SMGP BESS’ Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), one of the largest integrated battery energy storage systems globally.

BDO Capital also earned the Transport Deal of the Year award for serving as mandated lead arranger and bookrunner for SMC Mass Rail Transit 7 Inc.’s (MRT-7) P100- billion syndicated loan term facility.

The Asset Triple A Sustainable Infrastructure Awards honor financial institutions and notable deals in infrastructure or renewable energy projects that made a significant impact from January 1 to December 31, 2023.

BDO Capital has also garnered international and local recognition as the Best Investment Bank in the Philippines from prestigious publications and associations.

Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC) bolstered its partnership with the Jacobo Z. Gonzales Memorial School for Arts and Trade (JZGMSAT) by donating industry-standard equipment for the school’s automotive service shop facility.

The donation, led by IPC president Tetsuya Fujita, includes a new tire changer, wheel balancer, and tools drawer, completing the facility’s setup with top-of-the-line tools that are within industry standards. An initiative that is part of IPC’s ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts aimed at improving the competency of future service technicians in the country.

IPC plans to expand its partnerships with more educational institutions across the country.

Astara-backed JMC (Jiangling Motors Corp.) Philippines  inaugurated its first dealership in Metro Manila, JMC Pasig, on September 3.

Located on C. Raymundo avenue, JMC Pasig is owned and managed by the esteemed Autohub Group.

Aboitiz Construction clocks in 6M safe man-hours

This achievement spans from Nov. 11, 2022, to Aug. 31, 2024, underscoring the company’s commitment to workplace safety in the shipbuilding sector.

The firm’s project for THI involves critical shipbuilding processes, including steel processing, block assembly, and various outfitting tasks. The ships produced at the site are essential for global goods transportation, reinforcing Balamban’s standing as the Shipbuilding Capital of the Philippines.

To enhance safety, the project site routinely conducts safety awareness training, emergency preparedness and response drills, site inspections and audits, personal protective equipment checks, risk assessments, and daily toolbox meetings focused on safety topics.

All safety-related initiatives align with the company’s adherence to ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System), the global standard for effective occupational health and safety practices

IBPAP teams up with Paywatch

The IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) has formed a strategic partnership with Paywatch, Southeast Asia’s leading Earned-Wage Access (EWA) service provider, to address the ongoing challenges of talent attraction and retention in the information technology and business process management (IT-BPM) sector.

The partnership  is designed to enhance the appeal of the IT-BPM industry to prospective employees by leveraging financial wellness initiatives. EWA, also known as on-demand pay, aims to empower employees with access to a portion of their earned wages before payday, thereby improving financial management and reducing reliance on loans or salary advances.

Through  EWA, IBPAP and Paywatch are addressing key challenges in talent management, making the IT-BPM sector more attractive and supportive for its workforce.

Paywatch’s anchor clients in the IT-BPM industry have already seen positive impacts from enrolling in the EWA program, including increased retention, improved recruitment, and enhanced productivity through better financial management.

Aboitiz InfraCapital partners with delaware 

Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC), the infrastructure arm of the Aboitiz Group, has announced the go-live of its Economic Estate SAP systems (EE SAP), implemented by delaware Philippines, a global leader in delivering advanced ICT solutions and services.

This digital transformation represents the most extensive and complex system implementation in AIC’s history. The go-live phase, which took place from May 31 to June 4 saw four parallel projects launched simultaneously.

The transformation involved the implementation of several integrated EE SAP systems, including Economic Estate ERP Implementation and Real Estate Leasing Operations (RE-FX), Real Estate Development and Lifecycle Management (RE-DLM), SAP Ariba Business Commerce

Automation and Sourcing (Ariba 1.3), and the Core Asset Management System.

These systems will help AIC streamline operations, improve the efficiency of real estate portfolio management, optimize sales management, contract management, land development, and procurement, and automate business network commerce, supplier lifecycle, and sourcing.

Eastern Communications won the Philippines Technology Excellence Award in the Infrastructure Technology – Telecommunications category at the  the Asian Technology Excellence Awards (ATEA) 2024 for its groundbreaking Philippine Domestic Submarine Cable Network (PDSCN) project

Eastern’s nationwide infrastructure and expansion efforts also gained global recognition and was previously awarded the Telecom Infrastructure Deployment category at the 2024 Carrier Community Global Awards in Berlin, Germany in June 2024.

The PDSCN is the result of a strategic partnership between Eastern Communications, Globe Group, and InfiniVAN. With a P4.3-billion investment, the project extended the reach of high-speed internet to underserved areas and ensured the creation of alternative routes for data transmission, minimizing the risk of service disruptions during calamities.
