As LANDBANK marked 62 years of impactful public service this August, the state-run bank honored outstanding clients and partners who have been instrumental in delivering essential financial and support services nationwide.

The inaugural LANDBANK Gawad TANYAG (Tanging Yaman at Galing) Awards held on 8 August 2025 celebrated clients who have demonstrated operational excellence and more importantly, driven meaningful change in their respective communities.

Honorees include individual farmers and fishers, cooperatives, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), corporations and large enterprises, countryside financial institutions (), and microfinance institutions (MFIs).

“Through Gawad TANYAG, we honor the invaluable contributions of our clients who help move our nation forward. This is our way of celebrating partnerships that go beyond banking — partnerships rooted in trust, shared purpose, and the pursuit of meaningful change,” said LANDBANK President and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz.

Under the Gawad PITAK (Pinakatanging Kooperatiba) category, the Hagonoy Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Panabingan Multi-Purpose Cooperative, and Nueva Ecija Seed Grower Multi-Purpose Cooperative were recognized as outstanding agri-based cooperatives in the small, medium, and large categories, respectively. The ASKI Employees Credit Cooperative and Providers Multi-Purpose Cooperative were also honored under the non-agricultural cooperative category.

Individual excellence was highlighted through the Ulirang Magsasaka award conferred to Alfonso Namujhe Jr. of Nueva Vizcaya, and the Ulirang Mangingisda award bestowed to Agrifina A. Gabres of Aurora.

LANDBANK is celebrating its 62nd anniversary marking 62 meaningful years of advancing growth, financial inclusion, and sustainability through responsive and impactful banking services.

GAWAD PITAK

Gawad PITAK (Gawad sa Pinakatanging Kooperatiba) honors the country’s top cooperatives for their financial strength, good governance, and deep commitment to uplifting members and communities.

Hagonoy Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (HAFAMUPCO)
Formed to free farmers from high-interest private lenders, the LANDBANK-backed HAFAMUPCO in Davao del Sur now offers affordable production loans, post-harvest services, farm machinery rentals, and warehousing.
For nearly three decades, it has boosted productivity, shielded farmers from predatory lending, and promoted sustainable farming practices. Its partnership with LANDBANK continues to drive stability, growth, and opportunity for small farmers in the region.
“Pag may kailangan sila, unahin natin sila,” said HAFAMUPCO Vice Chairman Florentino V. Misyon Jr., expressing the cooperative’s commitment to its members and community.
Panabingan Multi-Purpose Cooperative
In the farming community of Panabingan, San Antonio in Nueva Ecija, 37 farmer-members from two irrigators’ associations came together in 2016 to establish the first cooperative in the area — driven by a vision of self-reliance and community progress. Through the Agrarian Production Credit Program of various National Government agencies including LANDBANK, the cooperative secured an initial ₱5-million credit line to jumpstart its operations.
In just eight years, membership has grown to 231, with a ₱70-million credit line supporting affordable loans, agri-inputs trading, and farm machinery rentals. These services help members sustain their livelihoods and enhance their capacity to recover quickly from calamities, transforming Panabingan’s agricultural landscape.
“Malaki po ang naitulong ng kooperatiba sa bawat miyembro, sa pamilya ng bawat kasapi,” said Panabingan MPC General Manager Abundio R. Gabuni, reflecting the cooperative’s lasting impact on the community.
Nueva Ecija Seed Growers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (NESGA)
Since 1992, NESGA has been a vital player in the country’s rice industry, producing and distributing certified inbred seeds to various regions. Initially operating in Region III, the cooperative expanded its reach to Regions V and VIII, as well as to Sultan Kudarat, Surigao del Sur, and Cotabato, in response to the growing demand for high-quality seeds nationwide.
With LANDBANK’s support since 2018, NESGA has steadily strengthened its operations — helping seed growers expand their farms, improve yields, and secure their livelihoods. By ensuring a steady supply of quality seeds, the cooperative continues to contribute to the country’s food security and the prosperity of farming communities.
“Habang ang Pilipino ay kumakain ng bigas, nakikita ko ang kahalagahan pa rin ng pagbibinhi,” said NESGA Acting Manager Fidel C. Patricio, underscoring the enduring importance of seed production to ensuring food security.
ASKI Employees Credit Cooperative (AECC)
Established in 2011, AECC is the savings and investment arm of the ASKI Group of Companies, Inc., serving employees across Regions I, II, and III. With ₱80 million in share capital, it offers a full range of loans—for housing, livelihood, transportation, education, travel, calamity, and insurance — while advancing digital solutions for easier transactions.
To better meet members’ needs, AECC partnered with LANDBANK for additional revolving capital. It also launched the AECC Portal, allowing members to apply for loans, check balances and shares, and vote online during the Annual General Assembly. Committed to financial literacy, the cooperative also encourages members to invest and save for a secure future.
“Naituro namin sa mga empleyado na hindi lang dapat puro utang, dapat ay mag-invest, mag-save para sa future,” said AECC General Manager Rosalie D. Dela Cruz, reflecting their commitment to building a culture of savings and investment.
Providers Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Founded in 2008 by government employees in Isabela, Providers Multi-Purpose Cooperative grew from a small savings group into the province’s first and largest billionaire cooperative in just 17 years. Beyond lending, it ventured into real estate to make land ownership accessible, and expanded into agriculture by lending farm inputs and buying members’ harvests at higher prices than private buyers.
Today, it offers members affordable goods, hardware supplies, and healthcare, all while creating jobs and livelihoods to boost the local economy.
“Naniniwala kami na kung hindi kay LANDBANK, hindi kami lalaki nang ganito,” said Providers MPC Chairperson Marie Dee Belagan, crediting the Bank’s role in their growth.

ULIRANG MAGSASAKA

Ulirang Magsasaka pays tribute to individual farmers whose dedication, hard work, and adoption of sustainable and innovative farming practices uplift their families, communities, and the nation’s agriculture sector.

Alfonso Namujhe Jr.
Known as the Father of Citrus Farming in Nueva Vizcaya, Alfonso Namujhe Jr. transformed Malabing Valley from corn and coffee fields into thriving citrus orchards. Believing in the land’s potential, he left his career as a farm manager to focus entirely on citrus farming — convinced it could uplift the community’s living conditions.
His vision proved to be right. The valley’s produce drew government support, bringing improved roads, infrastructure, and electricity to the area. Partnering with LANDBANK further fueled this agricultural revolution, cementing Malabing Valley’s reputation as a citrus hub.
“My father started the spark, and it is LANDBANK who fueled it,” said Josephine Namujhe, daughter of Alfonso, who received the award on his behalf.

ULIRANG MANGINGISDA

Ulirang Mangingisda honors outstanding fishers for their excellence, resilience, and commitment to sustainable fishing. Their practices help secure livelihoods, protect marine ecosystems, and ensure the country’s food security.

Agrifina A. Gabres
From teaching and engaging in other livelihoods, Agrifina Gabres ventured into tilapia farming in Aurora. Her operations grew from a single fishpond to seven ponds spanning 1.8 hectares, while also expanding into other forms of farming.
Her partnership with LANDBANK began in 2021 through the ACEF Program, which helped boost her yield and income. Beyond her own success, Agrifina leads and mentors fellow fishers through various associations, proving herself a driving force in the community.
“Babae ako, hindi babae lang. Ang kayang gawin ng kalalakihan ay kaya ko ring gawin,” said Gabres, underscoring her determination and leadership.

GAWAD MSME

Gawad MSME honors exceptional micro, small, and medium enterprises that drive local economies through innovation, resilience, and job creation. They embody the spirit of Filipino enterprise and progress in communities nationwide.

Jose Fernand Latog
From a roadside buko stand in 2005, Jose Fernand Latog and his wife grew CJ’s Buko Hauz and Aqua Farm into a well-loved farm-to-table restaurant and hatchery in Sultan Kudarat. Relaunched in 2020, it champions organic farming, zero-waste practices, and the signature “Bingwit Mo, Kilo Ko, Ipaluto Mo, Kaya Iuwi Mo” experience.
With LANDBANK’s support, Latog expanded from coconut products to hito aquafarming, sourcing all ingredients from his own farm. He pays forward his success by providing employees—many from IP communities—with full health coverage, education aid, motorcycle loans, and emergency assistance.
“Galing sa bukid, direkta sa mesa — ang serbisyo namin ay tapat, sariwa, at para sa lahat,” said Latog, reflecting his commitment to honest, fresh, and inclusive service.
Jollypig Farms, Inc.
Since 2006, Jollypig Farms, Inc. has grown into a key agri player in Region VIII, reliably supplying over 60 supermarkets and businesses with quality meat at affordable prices. Built on honesty and consistent quality service, it has earned a loyal customer base and a strong market reputation.
The company’s resilience shone during the COVID-19 pandemic and the African Swine Fever outbreak, when they turned challenges into opportunities for growth. With support from LANDBANK, Jollypig expanded its operations and manpower, while strengthening its mission to empower employees to become agripreneurs themselves.
“Sa LANDBANK, higit pa sa utang. May malasakit sila sa negosyo mo,” said Jollypig Farms President and CEO Francis Bernard Escalon.
Spouses Patrick Mary and Rodary Therese Guanzon
In Apalit, Pampanga, the Guanzons operate the only Total Station along the entire stretch of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), serving as a vital stop for motorists. With LANDBANK’s financial backing, they expanded their operations to integrate solar energy and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring both environmental responsibility and community benefit.
Even at the height of the pandemic, they kept their doors open, providing essential services and supporting employees and their families. Their approach reflects a deep commitment to shared progress and sustainable growth.
“Our goal is not just business, but the shared growth of our employees, families, and community,” said Patrick Guanzon.
Spouses Mary Jeanette and Michael Anthony Bercadez
Lion Heart Security Agency in Capiz is more than a business — it is a mission to uplift lives. Established by spouses Mary Jeanette and Michael Anthony Bercadez, the company not only safeguards people and property but also provides stable jobs, skills training, and employee benefits that extend far beyond industry standards.
When the pandemic disrupted many livelihoods, their partnership with LANDBANK ensured that operations continued and employees were supported. Guided by their principle of “guarding with honor and serving with a heart,” Lion Heart has become a beacon of reliability and compassion in their community.
“We don’t just see this as a business. It is very personal because we are able to help and uplift people’s lives,” said Proprietor and General Manager Michael Anthony A. Bercadez.

GAWAD KAAGAPAY

Gawad KAAGAPAY (Korporasyon na KAagapay sa Ating GAnap na TagumPAY) recognizes corporations and large enterprises for outstanding performance, responsible leadership, and contributions to economic and social progress. These partners drive meaningful change in industries and communities nationwide.

Soliman E.C. Septic Tank Disposal
From one truck in 2002, Soliman E.C. Septic Tank Disposal has grown into a national leader in sanitation and waste management, with 11 branches, over 200 trucks, and two treatment plants. They recycle waste into fertilizers and water resources for farmers, proving that even an “unseen” industry can drive environmental and community progress.
Initially wary of loans, growth was slow, until LANDBANK became their partner in 2016. With access to vital financing, expansion became swift and transformative.
“Nung dumating yung LANDBANK sa amin, lahat ng gusto naming mabili na equipment para sa planta, ambilis. Kung wala ang LANDBANK, mahihirapan talaga kami,” said President and CEO Epitacio “Dennis” C. Soliman Jr.
Fiesta Communities, Inc.
Since 2007, Fiesta Communities, Inc. has been building affordable homes for minimum wage earners across Central Luzon, completing over 40,000 units while creating jobs and vibrant communities around its projects.
During the pandemic, when many institutions took a “wait and see” approach, LANDBANK remained a steadfast supporter, allowing Fiesta to continue its mission uninterrupted.
“Sa Fiesta, ang pangarap mong tahanan ay ginagawa naming totoo,” said President Wilfredo M. Tan.
Cebu Landmasters, Inc. (CLI)
CLI is one of the Philippines’ leading integrated real estate developers in the country, with a diverse portfolio of residential, office, hotel, mixed-use, and township projects in 15 key cities across the Visayas and Mindanao. It has also championed community and environmental initiatives, including a tree-growing program with local farmers and fishers that has planted over 400,000 trees in Cebu, and a BERDE-certified housing project for informal settlers.
CLI and LANDBANK work closely to provide thousands of Filipino families with decent housing, expanding community access while promoting sustainable development.
“CLI offers best value for money. We’re talking about human dignity. We’re talking about a point of pride, about having a sense of belonging to a real community and true nation building,” said CLI Chief Financial Officer Beauregard Grant L. Cheng.

GAWAD PFI

Gawad PFI (Partner Financial Institution) honors top countryside and microfinance institutions that advance financial inclusion and sustainable growth. They empower rural communities by delivering essential financial services and expanding access to economic opportunities.

Rural Bank of Angeles (RBA)
Established in 1952, RBA serves both rural and urban communities with deposit and lending services for farmers, teachers, and small entrepreneurs. In 2015, RBA strengthened its agriculture portfolio with LANDBANK as a trusted ally, enabling the Bank to reach more farming communities nationwide through its 37 branches.
“Kahit malayo pa ‘yan, nandiyan ang RBA para puntahan yung mga kliyente,” said Vanessa F. Cano, Sales and Marketing Head.
Producers Savings Bank Corporation (PSBC)
From modest beginnings in 1995, PSBC has grown into a nationwide institution with over 290 branches, supporting farmers, entrepreneurs, and SMEs with accessible financial services. With LANDBANK as a partner, PSBC continues to innovate and expand outreach programs that change the lives of farmers across the country.
“Our vision is to become the number one partner bank of farmers and entrepreneurs in the country,” said President and CEO Andres M. Cornejo.
First Isabela Cooperative Bank (FICOBank)
From its humble beginnings in 1980, FICOBank has grown into a trusted financial partner for over 114 cooperatives and thousands of clients across Luzon. Committed to advancing financial inclusion, FICOBank serves farmers and entrepreneurs who often lack access to traditional banking services. It offers a comprehensive range of products and services, including deposit accounts, loan products for agriculture, business, and salary needs, as well as various fee-based services.
FICOBank’s enduring partnership with LANDBANK has been instrumental to its growth and resilience. With LANDBANK’s timely financial support, the Bank has strengthened its operations and expanded beyond Isabela to other areas.
”Sa amin, ang nakikita naming success, is when we see these small farmers transform into a medium, larger farmer. Because yun ang aming roots, yun ang aming purpose in the financial sector,” said FICOBank President and CEO Atty. Hubert E. Molina.

ASA Philippines Foundations, Inc.
As one of the country’s leading microfinance institutions, ASA Philippines Foundation empowers over 2.2 million women through affordable loans and community-based programs. By offering the lowest interest rates among MFIs nationwide, ASA makes it possible for women to grow their livelihoods, improve their skills, and secure a better future for their families.
LANDBANK’s partnership with ASA strengthens its capacity to reach underserved communities, helping women rise above poverty through entrepreneurship and financial inclusion.
“We want to go to the places where nobody dares to go and we want the people there to make them have access to credit,” said ASA Deputy Chief Operations Officer (OIC) Nilo B. Cellon Jr.
