Manila Doctors Hospital strengthens cancer support group, officially partners with Argao Psych for mental health program

Manila Doctors Hospital’s (MDH) cancer support program, BRAVE, just got more holistic with the recently inked partnership last July 24, 2025 with Argao Psych, the largest private outpatient mental health center in Central Luzon. 

This collaboration brings together clinical excellence of MDH and the mental health expertise of Argao Psych. Through this partnership, MDH cancer patients, their families, and caregivers will have access to a structured counseling and psychosocial group therapy led by Argao Psych’s team of mental health professionals. The program aims to assist patients and their carers cope with the challenges of diagnosis and treatment by fostering peer support and promoting a positive outlook throughout their cancer journey. 

Dr. Cherry Fernando, head of MDH Cancer Institute is optimistic that the partnership will give cancer patients and their families a safe space for their healing journey.  “Together, Argao Psych and Manila Doctors Hospital’s Cancer Institute bring healing beyond medicine by offering emotional strength, hope, and community for patients and their families, a testament for the Institute’s vision of holistic care”, she added. 

BRAVE is the cancer support group of MDH designed to uplift, connect, and empower both private and social service cancer patients. It is composed of four-core program components: patient-centered support group, holistic care workshop, access to comprehensive resources, and community engagement and strategic partnerships.
