Angelica Panganiban surprised everyone with her announcement Friday that she has decided to stop making drama series.
In an online press conference last Friday, the 33-year-old actress she will no longer make another teleserye after “Walang Hanggang Paalam,” which starts airing on the Kapamilya Channel today.
Aneglica she hoped viewers will like her latest drama series because it is going to be her last.
“Masyadong personal kung bakit importante ang ‘Walang Hanggang Paalam’,” she said.
Angelica did not specify a reason for her decision, apart from saying that the soap made her reach certain realizations about her life.
“Dito ako nakapag-decide kung ano talaga iyong mahalaga sa buhay, kaya masaya ako dahil ang nakasama ko sa project na ito ang direktong ito, ang grupong ito, ang mga artistang ito dahil gusto ko na magpaalam sa larangan ng teleserye,” she said.
She cleared that she is not leaving the Kapamilya Channel.
“I’m not leaving ABS-CBN, pero, siguro, hanggang dito na lang po muna ang mga trabahong gagawin ko pagdating sa soap opera,” she stated.
“Walang Hanggang Paalam,” directed by Manny Palo and Darnel Villaflor, has Angelica playing the role of a mother whose child is kidnapped by criminals out to exact revenge against her ex-husband, played by Paulo Avelino.
Zanjoe Marudo plays Angelica’s fiancé, while Arci Muñoz is the new woman in Paulo’s life.
“Walang Hanggang Paalam” also stars Jake Cuenca, JC Santos, Tonton Gutierrez, Lotlot de Leon, Ronnie Lazaro, McCoy De Leon, Mary Joy Apostol, Sherry Lara, Victor Silayan, Javi Benitez, and Cherry Pie Picache.
Angelica Panganiban started as a child star, appearing on TV at age 6 before landing roles on the big screen, including “Separada” and “Sarah…Ang Munting Prinsesa.” Recently, she launched her podcast, “Ask Angelica!” where she gives her unfiltered views and comments on people’s situations and problems. Its first episode on Friday, Sept. 25, was heard on Star Cinema’s Facebook, YouTube, and Spotify. It is also seen on Cinema One and Jeepney TV.
