NUTRIASIA has always viewed itself as a steadfast partner in nation building. Beyond the delicious flavors it provides, the company said it is committed to ensure a more ‘Masarap, Masaya’ way of living is the goal it offers to every Filipino.
Angie Flaminiano, chief operating officer and president of NutriAsia, said the condiments manufacturer and distributor is one with the rest of the countrymen in building a better and greener Philippines for future generations.
In keeping with its mission to promote sustainability, the company has launched a key piece of its sustainability plan, partnering with Plastic Credit Exchange (PCX) for its Datu Puti brand to achieve plastic neutrality.
“The partnership with PCX intensifies our drive toward a more sustainable future with our commitment to make the entire iconic brand’s product portfolio plastic neutral,” Flaminiano said.
According to Flaminiano, achieving plastic neutrality entails calculating the plastic usage in Datu Puti’s bottles, bottle caps, cap seals, and stand-up pouches, then through PCX, diverting the equivalent amount of post-consumer plastic from nature. The collected plastic is transformed into an alternative source of energy for creating cement and other products.
This is a more sustainable way of managing the plastic waste, contributing much help in making the country a cleaner, greener place to live in, she stressed.
The company wants to actively lead market transformation to make the world more sustainable. Its initiatives are guided by a fundamental question: how can the company improve the lives of its consumers equitably in the present and for future generations, while enabling its operations to support a healthy and vibrant environment to live in?
“(While) there is little doubt that continuing our existence as a country and as a species is the global challenge of our times,” she said, “(but) taking definitive steps toward sustainability is one way of securing a better world for present and future generations.”
Systemic and meaningful change often happens as a result of independent and collective actions toward the same goal and direction, Flaminiano noted. “More than ever, we need to connect our actions to how it impacts our communities.”
