A quick scroll through Syne’s Instagram posts tells the viewer two things: First, Syne is a brand that loves clean lines and timeless designs. And, second, their head designer Patty Galang is a master at manipulating silk into the dress of your dreams. A graduate of the London College of Fashion and in her seventh year since launching her own label, Syne, the designer decided to create her very first bridal collection after persistent client inquiries.
“Our very first bridal collection has always been highly requested from us,” Patty shares. “Very few brands have our aesthetic when it comes to bridal gowns, and this collection is our vision of how we think a modern bride looks like.”
The collection comprises ten wedding dresses constructed in silk. “We all know how tricky it is to make a dress using silk fabric because of its very thin, slippery, and delicate texture,” she shares. “We’ve made it a point to only hire experienced or skilled sewers with a background in couture to make the collection.”
The collection features details that are both easy to wear and allow the wearer to stand out from the crowd. From ornamental bows, cascading trains, to beautifully draped silk, Syne’s bridal dresses have something to suit the tastes of a varied spectrum of brides.
Not only that, Patty also made sure to include classic necklines and silhouettes that flatter most body types. “What I love about silk is you don’t have to try hard to pull it off. It’s luxurious as it is and because of its perfect sheen, there’s no need to embellish it with lace or beading. It has a texture that can hug anyone’s curves perfectly,” Patty says.
