Global Estate Resorts Inc. is banking on a revitalized tourism industry to sustain growth.

“As a developer of integrated tourism estates, the company welcomes the government’s efforts to revitalize the tourism sector and transform it into a major pillar of economic growth,” said Monica Salomon, Global Estate president.

Salomon said the Department of Tourism (DOT) targets 4.8 million foreign tourists arrivals in 2023, almost double that of 2022.

The DOT is looking to attract 3.8 million foreign and local tourists in Western Visayas, including Boracay, up from last year’s 2.8 million.

“The anticipated rise in tourist arrivals due to pent up demand for leisure and travel is expected to boost hotel occupancies and retail spending, benefiting the company’s tourism estates,” Salomon said.

For the Visayas market, Salomon said the company’s 150-hectare Boracay Newcoast is well positioned to capture the mass tourism market with the opening last year of Boracay New Coast Convention Center, a MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) facility that can accommodate up to 1,200 persons. Boracay Newcoast has the capacity to host large business events or corporate groups.

“The company seeks to explore and develop different types of tourism, suitable for its tourism and leisure assets and support the DOT’s campaign for the development of cultural and heritage tourism. The company has always believed that tourism can be a driving force of inclusive economic growth, having demonstrated its ability to create opportunities for local enterprises and communities in terms of job generation, investments, and tourism revenue,” Salomon said.

“Complementing the company’s integrated tourism assets are townships which are strategically located in flourishing centers, such as Laguna and Cebu, as well as integrated lifestyle communities in Cavite and Antipolo Rizal, which bring home and leisure together in places close to nature,” Salomon said.

“Our integrated lifestyle communities are situated in natural landscapes, and are planned to have leisure amenities, such as golf, resort, adventure, or within. They are designed to promote healing and wellness, nurture family ties and friendships, and foster community life, and are for those who value their personal time and quality of life,” Salomon added.
