When all is calm and all is bright, Newport World Resorts rings in the much-awaited season with the annual tree lighting ceremony at The Plaza, Newport Mall, the start of numerous activities that Newport offers.
“Ang Puno ng Pino” stands 30 feet tall in all its shining, sustainable, and locally crafted glory, showcasing the creativity of local indigenous folk, whose works of decorative art from sustainably sourced native materials serve as highlights of the festive decorations, such as Capiz shells, sinamay, native fabric from abaca, sisal fiber, dried pandan leaves, buri grass, and woven fibers from Raffia palm trees.
Guests can feel in full the spirit of the season with “Christmas in our Hearts: Jose Mari Chan in Perfect Company”, a one-night Christmas concert with the legendary musician along with The Company on December 9. On December 15 & 16, Australian pop rock duo Air Supply presents a two-night concert, performing their all-time classic hits.
Familiar flavors of the holidays will be had with Mix & Mingle, a selection of sweet and savory dishes at the Garden Wing Café, from roasted turkey and chicken, smoked beef, suckling pig, pork belly roll, and more. Orders must be placed at least 24 hours in advance by calling (02) 7908 8889.
Also there to enjoy will be wonderful sights of 3D art installations from international contemporary artist Leeroy New at the GF, Newport Mall starting December 2.
Christmas shopping sprees and hangouts with mall-wide sales feature holiday pop-up stores, a grand holiday fair, holiday performances, and many more.
Capping off this year’s festivities is the biggest New Year’s Eve bash in Newport City, the Grand Countdown to 2023 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. Welcoming the year with a bang are back-to-back show stopping performances from Lani Misalucha with Mel Villena and the AMP Big Band and Gigi de Lana with the Gigi Vibes. The Grand Countdown is hosted by Nicole Laurel-Asensio.
Newport World Resorts brings the Epic Midnight pass for an all-access ticket to the eight countdown parties happening in one property. The SORA Rooftop Year-end Countdown will be at Hotel Okura Manila while Hilton Manila’s poolside countdown will be at the Vega Pool Club. Manila Marriott Hotel starts the year right with the “So Bright We Gotta Party” grand buffet, and 80’s and Youtube music will tickle those dancing feet at Manila Ballroom.
Partying the night away will get a boost with 90’s and Tiktok music in “The Year-End Reunion Soiree” at Sheraton Manila. The Bar 360 and The Grand Bar and Lounge will be open for jamming with the Eastside Band and more, while booze and grooves at House Manila will be fun. KAO Day and Night Club takes over The Plaza, Newport Mall for an unforgettable countdown.
