The “Go Green with Taiwan” proposal campaign and global competition, spearheaded by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council and supported by Ateneo de Manila University and the Philippine Marketing Association, invites Filipino participants to build a sustainable future in collaboration with Taiwan.
Alex Lai, director of the Taiwan External Trade Center Manila, emphasized that “Go Green with Taiwan,” launched in Ateneo de Manila University, is not just an ordinary competition but an action plan designed to rally creativity and collaboration for a better future.
“We believe innovation has the power to align environmental well-being with economic prosperity,” Lai said.
The “Go Green with Taiwan” initiative offers an opportunity to think outside the box and dream big. “Any innovative proposals that leverage Taiwan’s cutting-edge solutions will be highly valued,” he added.

Dr. Raphael Guerrero, dean of the Ateneo School of Science and Engineering, stated that caring for the common home and the welfare of all creation are central to Ateneo’s efforts in education, research, and community engagement.
“This exciting competition aligns with our university’s mission to lead the way in sustainable and integral human development,” Guerrero said. “We’re very excited to be part of this momentous event.”
According to Guerrero, this competition is more than an ordinary contest such that it is a call to action, a launchpad for groundbreaking ideas, and a platform for collaboration that transcends borders. “This isn’t just about winning; it’s about creating a more sustainable future that benefits both the planet and business.”
Dr. Roberto Galang, dean of the Ateneo School of Management, noted that this initiative perfectly aligns with Ateneo’s unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability as outlined in the ‘Lux in Domino’ 2030 plan.
“This partnership is very important to us. The ‘Go Green with Taiwan’ competition is a perfect fit for what Taiwan Excellence wants to promote and what Jesuit excellence, or ‘Magis,’ aims to achieve – it’s a perfect marriage of ideas,” Galang said.
“This initiative aims to ignite the spark of creativity in Ateneo students, challenging them to bridge the gap between environmental sustainability and technological progress,” he added.
“Imagine the positive impacts of combining Filipino ingenuity, particularly Ateneo ingenuity, with Taiwan’s technological solutions as a global leader in green technology. This collaboration could propel us to a brighter future,” he continued.
“To our students and aspiring minds, this is your time to shine. Don’t be afraid to dream big, think outside the box, and harness your creativity to address environmental challenges,” Galang stated. “By participating in this competition, you’re not just competing; you’re becoming architects of a greener future.”
Faye Martinez, director of the Philippine Marketing Association, expressed her support, describing the competition as a fantastic opportunity for everyone from veterans to students.
“This competition pushes everyone to their limits. Think of creative ideas that can make a difference for today’s generation,” Martinez said. “For students, we aim to ignite your creative solutions not only for the Philippines but as a contribution to the world.”
