DON CRISTOBAL has celebrated 10 strong and glorious years in the fashion industry as a multi talented designer, stylist, and photographer.

At the show, spectators witnessed the fashion creations, distinguished brands, and exemplary individuals who triumphed despite upheavals and tests of time. Cristobal’s runway show, titled “Pride: A Decade of Fashion,” coincided with the 124th Philippine Independence and the vibrant LGBTQIA+ Community Pride Month.

Held at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria’s grand ballroom, the show featured the collections of renowned and established names together with the next game-changers of the Philippine fashion: Anna Fuentes Ligaya, Cathy Capistrano, Chico Estiva, Don Cristobal, Juliedan Vergara, Juvy Fantilanan, Kristoffer Tabili, Mikael Mc Castillo, Patty Valle, Roberth Gallardo, and Shiela Fairytutu.

“The support and trust given by the spectators, sponsors, and colleagues were overwhelming as I held the show with a bang,” Cristobal told Malaya Business Insight.

“I had over 90 collections paraded on the runway. While I prepared for this in just a short period, the quality in every fashion piece is guaranteed,” he pointed out.

At first, Cristobal was hesitant to conduct the show because individuals have yet to recover from the present crisis, “But with God’s grace as well as help from other people, I made it,” he noted.

“I want to dedicate this to every viewer, and the designers who are yet to launch their fashion career, so they will find inspiration for reaching their fashion goals,” he added.

“There are lessons to be learned every day. I want to share the learning I realized from this competitive and ever-evolving industry,” he stressed.

Viewers can look forward to many pocket events. For instance, he plans to bring his banig/sako (mat) designs to the provinces, hold a fashion show, and sell them there.

“We’re in talks about it now, and the mat will be associated with the province’s culture and tradition.”

Crowne Plaza has come up with a designer cake for Cristobal. Inspired by the creations of the fashion designer, the cake was a brainchild of Gibeth Gloria, executive assistant manager of Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Manila Galleria.

“I told Don that since we have been doing a lot of shows and we are claiming that we are the ‘Fashion Oasis in Manila’, I said why don’t we use the designs and translate them into a cake,” Gloria said. So the hotel challenged its pastry team’s creativity, and succeeded

“I always think that it’s my swan song and take comfort in the fact that those last pieces were crafted at my best,” he said.

The Don Cristobal Runway Show Season 10 was presented by Team DC Manila Productions, Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, SunSmart Solar Power Technology Inc., Scene Zone Magazine, Aphrodite Aesthetics Skincare and Medical Clinic.

It was hosted by Angelee de los Reyes and directed by Raymund Ramirez Seranillo in partnership with Mplify.

Malaya Business Insight was an official media partner of the said show.
