Disney+ Asia-Pacific Originals received eight awards at the 2023 Asia Content Awards & Global OTT Awards ceremony, hosted at the Busan International Film Festival.
“Moving” was presented with six awards, including the prestigious Best Creative Award – given in honor of content that has delivered the most notable achievements among the nominations — as well as Best Visual Effects. Screenwriter Kangfull was honored with the Best Writer award, with “Moving” cast members Ryu Seungryong, Lee Jungha, and Go Younjung taking home the awards for Best Lead Actor, Best Newcomer Actor and Best Newcomer Actress, respectively.
During the ceremony, “Gannibal” star Yuya Yagira was also presented with the Asian Excellence Award for his captivating performance in the series.
“Taiwan Crime Stories’” Hsueh Shih-Ling received the award for Best Supporting Actor.
Held at the Busan International Film Festival, the Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards celebrate the achievements of excellent content made for TV, OTT, and online platforms across Asia.
First launched on August 9, 2023, “Moving” has enjoyed record breaking success since its debut, recently becoming the most viewed series finale ever on Disney+ across APAC, including Korea, the Philippines and Taiwan. The show also made headlines after it became the most viewed Korean original series across Disney+. Widely praised for breathing new life into the super power genre, the epic twenty-episode series has received critical acclaim for its daring narrative structure, dynamic action sequences and breathtaking storytelling.
Japanese Original “Gannibal” has also enjoyed record breaking success, becoming the most watched locally produced original series on Disney+ in Japan, with the show recently renewed for a second season.
