Newly-engaged actress Bea Alonzo admits she and her fiance Dominic Roque have not sat down to formally plan their wedding.
Since Dominic popped the question two weeks ago, the two have just been enjoying the engagement high and basking in all the love flowing their way.
“Alam namin na hindi na namin mababalikan ang feeling na ito. Ayaw muna naming ma-stress sa wedding planning. In fact, wala pa kaming nakakausap na wedding planner at all. As in wala pa at all. Ang ginagawa lang namin ay to watch ng wedding videos, manood ng mga weddings na sunud sunod ang get inspired, makakuha ng tips kung sakaling magplaplano na kami. Sa ngayon, wala. Gusto muna namin i-enjoy…,” said Bea at her launch as the celebrity endorser of Philippine Statistic Authority’s (PSA) 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (2022 CAF) in Centris Eton Cyberpod Five in Quezon City on Tuesday, August 1.
Owner of the Beati Firma mango farm in Zambales, Bea was asked if she would consider having a rustic farm wedding.
“Naku si Mama magugutuhan ‘yan. Pangarap talaga nya ‘yan,” she said, adding that she and Dom have yet to make any decision but do exchange photos of “pegs” for their future altar date.
One thing is sure, Dom wants many kids.
“Gusto daw nya walo,” the actress said, smiling. “Paano? Thirty-five na ako.”
Bea said she is heartened by messages saying they were inspired by her love story, because they, too, underwent heartbreak. Bea said she wants to continue to inspire people, like how she wants other farm owners and fisherfolks to participate in the 2022 CAF.
She urged owners of agricultural lands and aquatic farms to be included in 2022 CAFF that officially starts on September 4.
“I encourage [people] kung meron kakilala na involved in fishing and farming para ma-educate sila that it is very important data para sa census at PSA. Dapat mag participate kasi ito ay every ten years lang nangyayari. Sana i-welcome ang enumerators dahil hindi madali ang kanilang ginagawa,“ she said.
It is her love for farm life that made Bea the only choice to be PSA’s celebrity endorser for the upcoming census.
“Apart from being one of the most sought-after celebrities in the country, she wholeheartedly champions sustainable farming, evident in her ownership of an organic farm in Zambales which also serves as haven for her and her family,” said Minerva Eloisa Esquivias, deputy national statistician of PSA.
The 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries is an important undertaking by the PSA because updated information on agriculture and fisheries shall enable economic development planners to respond to the challenges and opportunities in these sectors for our country to grow and prosper.
It will be the seventh of a series of decennial agricultural censuses and the sixth of the decennial census of fisheries in the country since 1903.
