WORLD Trade Center Metro Manila (WTCMM) presents ‘Artists for Peace’, a contemporary art exhibition featuring three of the Philippines’ esteemed artists Nemi Miranda, Juno Galang, and Augusto Santiago.
The project brings together a roster of accomplished artists, featuring the great works of art on display at the WTCMM until October 24, said Pamela Pascual, WTCMM president and chief executive officer.
“Promoting culture and art is yet another milestone made possible through the collaboration with Artist for Peace,” Pascual also said.
Miranda, an international artist with innumerable commissioned monuments in selected regions in the Philippines, is a distinguished visual artist nominated for the National Artist in the category of Visual Arts.
His art revolves around urban imagery and mythology, drawing inspiration from Filipino myths and legends, especially those that were told by his elders in Angono, Rizal.
Galang, an international artist based in Hawaii, showcases modern artworks depicting modern figurative subjects that are well-celebrated by art enthusiasts.
Santiago is a figurative artist and modern impressionist with a wide range of expertise in different mediums and whose works are widely commissioned by major corporate and historical establishments.
He is a member of the international community of artists that venture international culture and art exchange programs and fund-raising initiatives.
The ‘Artists for Peace’ is by invitation only, and it is composed of distinguished senior artists who advocate social issues, Santiago said in an interview.
“Our primary goal is to create a new platform, inspire creativity and friendship among contemporary artists,” he said.
The three artists met together with one instinct of what they want to do and see for their group, and they want to create art that will connect people and create peace for the community, Miranda explained.
