AC Mobility, the mobility solutions arm of the Ayala Group, has the biggest number of charging ports in the country as of 2024, an official of the company said.

Carla Buencamino, head of Mobility Infrastructure at AC Mobility, told Malaya Business Insight on Jan. 23, 2025, that the company now has 135 charging stations across the Philippines.

Data from the Department of Energy showed there are 847 charging stations in the country.

Buencamino said AC Mobility has 129 AC chargers, 8 DC chargers and 141 charging points in 61 charging locations.

On Jan. 21, 2025, AC Mobility announced it is expanding further its EV infrastructure in Makati as the city solidifies its role as a central hub for electric mobility.

“With its reputation as one of Metro Manila’s most sustainable urban centers, Makati has consistently set the benchmark for eco-friendly initiatives and responsible governance. Its progressive policies, strategic location, and innovative environmental programs make it an ideal partner for AC Mobility,” Buencamino told Malaya Business Insight when sought for comment on the plan.

AC Mobility said Makati will host 74 fully operational charging points by the first quarter of 2025 across 18 locations, including offices, malls, condominiums, among others.

AC Mobility said in collaboration with Ayala Land and the Makati Central Estate Association, it will add 27 charge points, including 19 DC fast charge points that provide significantly reduced charging times.

It said among the key additions are ultra-fast chargers at the Corinthian and Legaspi car parks. It also has charging points in Valero 2, Dela Rosa 1, the Makati Stock Exchange and Solaris One.

“AC Mobility is excited to enhance Makati’s mobility infrastructure with a comprehensive charging network, ensuring convenient and efficient solutions for residents and visitors,” said Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, chief executive officer of AC Mobility in the statement.

AC Mobility said several charging stations operate 24/7 but did not disclose these sites.
