On 19 September, Japanese Ambassador Endo attended the 61st anniversary ceremony of the BTVWWII (Board of Trustees of the Veterans of World War II) as the guest of honor at the Philippine Veterans Center.
In his speech, Ambassador Endo expressed his gratitude for the tireless efforts and benevolence of the Filipino people, including veterans and their families, which have fostered the legacy of Japan-Philippines friendship. He also paid tribute to the veterans for their contributions to peace and security and emphasized the commitment to strengthening Japan-Philippines relations.
Furthermore, Ambassador Endo highlighted various aspects of the bilateral cooperation between Japan and the Philippines and expressed a desire to further strengthen international order and the rule of law.
Philippine Veterans’ Bank chairman Roberto F. de Ocampo highlighted Japan’s contribution as the largest ODA donor to the Philippines today and expressed hope for the continued development of Japan-Philippines relations.
