“Part of My World,” the title of Shiela Valderrama-Martinez’s concert in the CCP’s Triple Threats series, holds personal meaning for the singer-actress. It was the song she performed in her first professional audition.
“My concert will be a journey of my career, so I’m inviting my audience to be part of my world,” Shiela said. “I’m a Disney girl through and through. I’ve done several Disney Princess roles and performed at Disney Orchestra Concerts abroad.”

Shiela was “surprised and excited” to be invited to perform for the CCP’s Triple Threats series on October 17. “It’s an honor to be given this grant by the CCP,” she said, expressing gratitude to Dennis Marasigan, Ariel Yonzon, and the CCP team for the opportunity.
Her concert director, Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, was her first choice. “Menchu has seen me grow in the business and is a brilliant director. She’s hands-on and meticulous, and I know I’m in good hands.”
Menchu and Shiela have collaborated on many shows, including “Secret Garden,” “Carrie,” and “Godspell.”
Working as musical director for “Part of My World” is Rony Fortich, who helped finalize the set list. “Rony and I have worked together for years, and he knows my voice and range.”
Shiela’s set list will be a surprise, and she will perform with an 11-piece orchestra, with arrangements by JC Celeste. She will also sing with guests, including Arman Ferrer, Floyd Tena, David Ezra, Carla Guevara-Laforteza, Yanah Laurel, and her family members.
After wrapping up the 9 Works Theatrical musical “Once on This Island” last September, Shiela will go on tour for “Rama Hari” before her Triple Threats concert. “We closed ‘Once on This Island’ on September 29 at the RCBC Theater, and I was thrilled to play Erzulie, a role on my bucket list.”
Shiela will perform in Dumaguete and Bacolod for “Rama Hari,” playing dual roles as Sita and Kaikeyi. “It’s my first time in Dumaguete, and I’m looking forward to performing at Silliman University, plus returning to Bacolod, my hometown.”
Shiela is also preparing for her role in the Netflix series “Buy Bust,” directed by Erik Matti. She also recently wrapped filming for the series “Bag Man.”
“I start shooting the Netflix series ‘Buy Bust’ by director Erik Matti,” Shiela offered. “After my concert, then the other series, ‘Bag Man’ that we just wrapped up filming, will be aired this year, as well. It’s also ‘Ber’ months so I’m gearing up for the busy events season.”
