PRESIDENT Marcos Jr. has appointed new ranking officials of the Department of Education (DepEd) to support new Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, who assumed office late last month after the resignation of Vice President Sara Duterte from the agency.
The Presidential Communications Office (PCO), in a Facebook post yesterday, said the new appointees to DepEd include lawyer and former Interior and Local Government undersecretary Peter Irving Corver, former Candijay, Bohol mayoralty candidate Trygve Olaivar and former public works and assistant secretary Mel John Versoza who were designated undersecretaries.
Also appointed was DepEd Office of the Assistant Secretary for National Academy of Sports and Field Operations officer-in-charge Malcolm Garma as Assistant Secretary.
Marcos also named Roberto Diciembre as executive director of the Movie Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). Before his appointment, Diciembre served as chief of staff of MTCRB chairwoman Lala Sotto-Antonio.
PCO said others appointed by the President to various positions in different offices include Urdujah Alvarado, Francesca Noelle Huang and Amante Liberato as members of the Career Executive Service Board; Crispian Lao and Dwight Hilarion Ramos as members of the board of the National Solid Waste Management Commission; Kenneth Cobonpue as member of the Philippine Creative Industries Development Council; and Anastacia Norate and Maria Eden Piadozo as members of the Professional Regulatory Board of Agriculture.
The other appointees are Teresita Ambunay as provincial agrarian reform program officer of the Department of Agrarian Reform and Crizaldo Nieves as Administrator III of the Office for Transportation Security.
