‘I didn’t know where to go. Dad was at the St. Luke’s hospital due to a stroke, and my daughter Inah was about to give birth.’

Trying Tuesday for the Revillas

TUESDAY this week was a most crucial day for Senator Bong Revilla and his wife, Lani Mercado. "I didn’t know where to go. Dad (former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr.) was at the St. Luke’s hospital due to a stroke, and my daughter Inah was about to give birth.

"That’s when I realized how important family is. It was Lani who advised me to be with my siblings sa St. Luke’s. Siya na lang daw ang bahala kay Inah."

The good news arrived almost simultaneously. The former senator has awakened, but he still is at the intensive care unit. Inah gave birth to a baby girl weighing 6.13 lbs. exactly at 6:59 p.m. last September 30.

Inah and her husband, Vince del Rosario, are naming their baby Alexa Daniela.

The baby is the second grandchild of Senator Bong and Lani. Their first grandchild, Gabe, is now three years old. He is the son of Jolo Revilla with Grace Adriano, the daughter of actress Rosanne Roces.

They are back in each others’ arms.

In the movie "My Only U," which Star Cinema is releasing this October, Vhong Navarro and Toni Gonzaga, who consider each other soulmates, are reunited. They were previously paired in "D’Anothers," which was a blockbuster.

In "My Only U," Vhong is Bong, a tenement landlord. His best friend is Winona (Toni).

Winona belongs to a family which is cursed. No one in her family lives beyond the age 25. And Bong is aware of the curse. Still, he harbors secret feelings for Winona.

He decides to take Winona to a series of adventures because he wants to make her remaining days on earth happy and memorable.

"For a change, magdra-drama kami ni Toni. Paki panood ng ‘My Only U’ nang malaman niyo kung effective rin kami ni Toni as drama performers," Vhong said.

"D’Anothers" was directed by Joyce Bernal. "My Only U" has box-office director Cathy Molina at the helm.

The Prats siblings, John and Camille, surely know where to put their earnings. They invested their money in a pre-school and a printing press.

Camille heads and manages the pre-school, while John takes charge of the printing press, which produces tarpaulins, posters, leaflets, and others.

"Business-minded talaga iyang si John. Napu-foresee niya na in the coming elections in 2010, maraming politicians tiyak ang magpapa-imprenta sa kanya ng mga gagamitin sa pangangampanya," said a kibitzer.

When we interviewed John, he said that he and his family were able to build a 20-door apartmernt in Star. Mesa, Manila, where they used to reside.

The Prats now live in a plush residence in Cainta, Rizal.

It’s not just in his business that John is making good. He is also happy about the way his career is going. His four-episode series "Your Song: Someone Like You" has yet to end and he already has a new teleserye also on ABS-CBN, "Tiny Tony."

"Tiny Tony" is based on a komiks serial written by the late Mars Ravelo. He was also told that Star Cinema might have his star one of their productions before the year ends.

As for his love life, he is currently dating Shaina Magdayao, who’s as hardworking as John. She’s the kind of girl whom the Prats family would prefer for John.
