Puregold of Lucio Co has practically completed the construction of its 200th  outlet. Co would not have started construction of another store if he did not have reasonable assurance that a permit from Mayor Meynard A. Sabili was not forthcoming. Up to about New Year’s Day, no permit has been issued. Wags say Co’s boys are negotiating with the mayor. What negotiation are they talking about? Isn’t the permit from a mayor to run a business dependent on the type of business, and most of all the benefits of the project that accrues to the city, namely more taxes? Not so in my city of Lipa.
