Head to SM for health, travel, CTPL insurance

To make insurance more accessible to Filipinos, BDO Insurance Brokers, Inc. (BDOI) and Pioneer came up with an innovative program of making various simple insurance products accessible via 56 locations of The SM Store nationwide.

The process of availing is simple, said BDOI General Manager and Senior Vice President Tracy Tan in a statement.

“We are happy to introduce Insure ME@SM, which is short for Insurance Made Easy at The SM Store. Customers can just go to the Business Services counter of any SM Store nationwide and ask about travel insurance, dengue insurance, personal accident insurance or even your vehicle’s compulsory third party liability (CTPL) insurance, pay for it and activate the coverage right there,” she said.

The other half of this undertaking, Pioneer, for its part said it has always been the group’s retail vision to have insurance reach more people at most convenient and affordable ways.

“This is a first in the country and Pioneer is proud and honored to be part of Insure ME@SM. Is there a better way to achieve our retail vision for insurance but to partner with the leader in retail who serves millions – SM and a company who finds ways – BDOI?” said its President Lorenzo Chan.

Meanwhile, The SM Store President Chelo Monasterio said having Insure ME offered at The SM Store is consistent with the vision of SM to offer as many choices in products and services as possible to its shoppers and the public.

The following insurance products are available nationwide at SM Store Customer Service or Business Service counters in the malls: Travel Insurance, Dengue Insurance, and CTPL insurance for vehicles

Safe Trip Comprehensive Travel Insurance Worldwide 2.5M provides medical treatment cover of up to P2,500,000 and satisfies the Schengen Visa requirement.

It also offers personal accident up to P1,000,000, personal liability up to P1,500,000 and covers travel inconveniences, such as trip cancellation, flight delay and loss of baggage.

It also provides access to emergency and travel assistance hotlines. Safe Trip also comes in the Worldwide 1M and the Domestic 500K variants.

MediCash Dengue Insurance provides a P10,000 cash assistance in the event the covered person is diagnosed with Dengue, even if diagnosis does not require hospital confinement.

The P10,000 cash assistance pays on top of HMO and Philhealth.

CTPL is the Compulsory Third-Party Liability insurance required by law before any vehicle can be registered with the Land Transportation Office (LTO). The insurance provides up to limit coverage for the death, disablement and medical expenses of a person injured because of an accident involving the covered vehicle.

All Insure ME products are underwritten by Pioneer.

BDOI was established to serve the insurance requirements of the SM and BDO Group.

Through the years, BDOI has evolved into a total insurance and risk management solutions provider for both its corporate and individual clients.

Steadily growing in step with the rest of the SM and BDO Group, BDOI is now the number one broker in the country in terms of premiums and commissions produced.

Established in 1954, Pioneer has been helping build and rebuild the lives of millions of Filipinos through its expertise in financial planning and risk management.

Its reputation has been reinforced by the Euromoney annual global Insurance Survey when Pioneer was named Best Insurer in the Philippines for two years in a row and Best Insurer in Asia in 2010.

Pioneer was also recognized by the Insurance Commission in 2012 for its contributions to the field of microinsurance.

Its vision is to bring the benefits of insurance to as many Filipinos from all walks of life as possible.
