Suspected drug den operator nabbed; P100K shabu seized

A MAN allegedly maintaining a drug den was arrested while P100,000 worth of suspected shabu and two firearms were seized when police raided his house in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

Police identified the suspect as Derek Navado Framil of St. Bernadette St. in Villa Lourdes Subdivision, Barangay Culiat.

Armed with a search warrant, cops swooped down on Framil’s house at around 12:45 a.m.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar said Framil had been under surveillance after authorities received reports that he is using his house as a drug den.

“There were many drug paraphernalia found inside the house during the raid, proving that the house is being used as a drug den,” Eleazar said.

Recovered during the raid were a caliber .45 pistol, a caliber .38 revolver, various types of ammunition, several drug paraphernalia, and 30 plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P100,000.

The raid was conducted less than two days after the QCPD reactivated its anti-drug units in the wake of President Duterte’s order tapping the PNP to rejoin the war on illegal drugs.

During the past two days, operatives of the QCPD also arrested eight suspected drug pushers and users in the city.

Galas cops nabbed Wenjel Castor, 42; and Edmund Demesi, 19, during a buy-bust operation along Fort Santiago St. in Barangay Sto. Cristo, Bago Bantay past 2 a.m. yesterday. Seized from them were two plastic sachets of shabu.

At about 1:45 a.m. yesterday, Batasan cops nabbed Marvin Libo-on, 38, in a buy-bust operation along Laura St. in Barangay Old Balara. Six plastic sachets of shabu and a digital weighing scale were confiscated from him.

Operatives of the Anonas Police Station nabbed Napoleon Futol, 36, in another buy-bust operation at Area 6 in Barangay Botocan past 1:30 a.m. of the same day.

Two plastic sachets of shabu were recovered from Futol.

Anonas cops arrested Eufemio Ortiz, 25, in Area 6, Barangay Botocan at about 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Ortiz yielded a plastic sachet of shabu. – Angela Lopez de Leon
