5 suspected users, pushers slain in Bulacan; P1M shabu seized in Novaliches buy-bust op

OPERATIVES of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office killed five suspected drug pushers and arrested 95 others in simultaneous operations on Wednesday.

Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat, provincial police director, identified the fatalities as an alias Popeye and Arwin Dave Martin, both killed in the City of San Jose del Monte; Sonny Pablo Torres, killed in Malolos City; Rommel Mercado, killed in Sta. Maria town; and Christian Abarquez, killed in Calumpit town. Reports said they were killed in separate buy-bust operations.

Caramat said 95 suspected drug users and pushers were rounded up by his men in buy-bust operations, service of search warrants and warrants of arrest, and checkpoint operation.

Seized during the operations were 277 pieces of plastic sachets of shabu weighing a total of 170.949 grams, 12 sachets of dried marijuana leaves weighing 21.86 grams, nine assorted firearms, 93 assorted bullets, and a hand grenade.

In August 16 last year, the Bulacan PPO recorded the highest number of drug users and pushers killed 32 in just one day . 

In Novaliches, Quezon City, police arrested two drug pushers and seized around P1-million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation on Wednesday afternoon.

Quezon City Police District director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar identified the suspects as Bawe Sarip, 27; and Reginaldo Cadag, 33. Eleazar said Sarip is a known drug peddler in Barangay Pasong Putik, Novaliches.

Seized from Sarip and Cadag were a sling bag containing 26 plastic sachets or approximately 200 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P1 million.

Ten more suspected drug pushers and drug users were also nabbed in Quezon City on Wednesday.

La Loma cops arrested Edlene Gumo, 34; Christian Martinez, 35; and Archie Javellana, 23, after they were spotted doing a drug deal at an alley near Don Pepe St. in Barangay Sto. Domingo past 10 p.m. Three plastic sachets of suspected shabu were seized from them.

Barangay Baesa watchmen nabbed a certain Armelito Medios, 50, after they saw him sniffing shabu inside his residence along Mendez St. in Barangay Baesa at about 10 p.m. Medios was turned over to the Talipapa Police Station.

At around 8:16 p.m., La Loma cops arrested Jimmy Alcera, 38; and Nicolas Francisco, 26, for possession of illegal drugs.

Masambong cops nabbed Emmanuel Quizora, 48; and Alexis Gatchalian, 32, in a buy-bust operation along Acacia St. in Sitio San Roque, Barangay Bagong Pag-asa past 6 p.m. Three plastic sachets of suspected shabu were seized from them.

Eastwood Police Station personnel nabbed Edwin Arididon, 49; and Leodegario Victorino, 51; after they were discovered carrying illegal drugs. The two, riding a motorcycle, were flagged down for not wearing helmets along Obrero St. in Barangay Bagumbayan at around 5:45 p.m.

When frisked, they yielded a plastic sachet of suspected shabu each.

Three suspected drug users were also arrested by police in a pot session in Morong Rizal yesterday. Senior Insp. Perlito Tauyon, Morong officer in charge, identified the three as Frederic Paron, 43; JV Dela Cruz, 19; and Jason Tison, 31. – Angela Lopez de Leon and Christian Oineza
