Ph bets gun for int’l tilts

IN the next four days beginning today, four Philippine delegates – three beauty queens and a beauty king – will aim to win their respective pageants here and abroad.

Tonight, two of them will vie for the coveted crowns in India and Egypt.

Miss Eco Philippines 2018 Cynthia Magpatoc Thomalla will gun for the 4th Miss Eco International pageant to be held at the Cairo Opera House in Cairo, Egypt. Cynthia is on track to make it to the finals, having made it to the finals of three pocket events that will have a bearing for the finals.

The Filipino-German beauty from Cebu was a Top 10 finalist for the Resort Wear pocket primer, a Top 15 finalist for Eco Dress and a Top 15 finalist for the Talent event. The winners of the special events will be announced during the finals tonight.

Arnold Vegafria, the president of Miss World Philippines (MWP) Organization and general manager Bessie Besana are in Egypt to cheer and support Cynthia.

Meanwhile, in not so far India, Inna Patricia Liwanag Gita of Plaridel, Bulacan will compete against 30 delegates worldwide for the inaugural Miss Glam World Pageant to be held in Kochi, Kerala State, also tonight.

Inna, a Mass Communications graduate of Centro Escolar University-Malolos, was a Jewel of the World Philippines (JWP) runner-up in 2016. She was originally scheduled to compete for Miss Globe International in Albania last year but the pageant was shelved.

JWP president John de la Vega decided to send Inna instead to the initial Miss Glam World Pageant.

On Sunday, April 29, Ethel Abellanosa of Cebu will represent the Philippines at the maiden Tourism Beauty of Asia. The finals, to be directed by Sander Andan, will be held at the Capitol Grounds in Daet, Camarines Norte as the highlight of its annual Bantayog Festival.

Envisioned to be a platform to promote tourism destinations throughout the Philippines, particulary the Bicol Region for the first edition, the pageant was founded by Alwin Balmeo under QVega Productions. Ferdinand Abejon is the international liaison director while Sera de la Vega is the social directress.

On Monday, April 30, Raven Renz Lansangan of Mabalacat City will compete against 31 other delegates worldwide for the 12th Mister International Pageant to be held at the National Theater in Yangon, Myanmar.

Raven won the right to represent the Philippines by winning as Mister International Philippines at last year’s Misters of Filipinas Pageant, the premiere beauty pageant for men spearheaded by its president Carlo Morris Galang.

Raven hopes to nail the country’s second Mister International title after “gwapulis” Neil Perez who won in 2014.
