PERLA Bautista seems to be Anita Linda’s heiress apparent.
The veteran actress looks to be the following in the footsteps of national treasure Anita Linda. In the trilogy omnibus “Bang Bang Alley,” the episode directed by Ely Buendia starring Miss World Megan Young features Miss Perla as a gun-toting character based on a real woman who lives in the mountain province. The role was initially intended for Miss Anita, but she turned it down because it would be tough for the eighty-nine-year-old to walk the steep slope.
Meanwhile, in Shalala’s launching movie “Echoserang Frog” from Scenema Concepts, the two actresses join forces.
Aljur Abrenica has apologized, but to whom?
GMA Artist Center top hunk Aljur is very happy with the success of his newest primetime soap “Kambal Sirena.” Even against another mermaid series, his show with Louise delos Reyes and Mike Tan is doing well, actually better than the competition. Aljur, who just marked his birthday last March 24, is counting his blessings and is man enough to admit certain truths.
Yes, he maintained what he said about Geoff Eigenmann supposedly flirting with his girlfriend Kylie Padilla and yes he has apologized. Not to Geoff, though, but to Geoff’s manager, Perry Lansigan, who posted a non-confrontational post in his account defending his ward. So Aljur felt he needed to apologize, to Perry, that is. So Perry and Aljur are okay again. But how about Aljur and Geoff? Is it really all well between them?
Miguel Tanfelix and Bianca Umali the next young love team to be launched by GMA in the afternoon soap, “Niño,” to be directed by Maryo J. Delos Reyes. Miguel and Bianca will lead the very young cast that also includes Vincent Magbanua, Julian Trono, Renz Valerio and David Remo plus Katrina Halili and Miss Gloria Romero.
Miguel is thankful to GMA for finally giving him this project. Now fifteen years old and graduating from high school, he was “Starstruck Kids” first prince years ago and, unlike his contemporaries, opted to stay loyal to GMA doing child roles for its shows.
Former actor turned congressman Dennis Roldan is now a pastor. But the call of the klieg lights remain strong and the father of promising young star Marco Gumabao of ABS-CBN Star Magic and DLSU volleyball varsity player Michelle Gumabao wants to return to showbiz.
With his grey hair, he has never looked better and more respectable. He is open to father roles, and welcomes characters that will not require him to cuss or villain roles that are not too evil.
He was last seen in 2005 in the series “Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga” with Dingdong Dantes and Tanya Garcia and in the movie “Terrorist Hunter” as Eddie Garcia’s villain. He is now being managed by Leo Dominguez.
