Coco intends to settle down when he turns 40

GUESS who stood tall as Kris Aquino’s escort at the premiere of “I Love You, Hater,” at SM Megamall Tuesday, July 10?

None other than her son Bimby Yap, who, at 11, is already taller than Kris! Bimby’s dad is basketball player James Yap.

Bimby was the perfect escort to his mom.

“Ang galing ng naisip ni Kris na si Bimby ang mag-escort sa kanya sa event,” some of Kris’ fans said. “Behaved si Bimby all throughout the showing of the movie, na obviously nagustuhan niya.”

Those who expected to see Kris wearing something glitzy were surprised to see her in a casual attire. “But it’s Gucci,” noted a kibitzer.

Incidentally, Kris’ new admirer, lawyer Gideon Peña, was also wearing Gucci at the star-studded event.

Meanwhile, Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto wowed in their matching pastel suits. “I Love You, Hater” director Giselle Andres was spotted at the premiere with her mentor, director Olive Lamasan, who is currently the managing director of Star Cinema.

Joshua and Julia are now preparing for a new project, reportedly with actress Iza Calzado.

Iza plans to finish the project before tying the knot with Ben Wintle before the year ends.

The Calzado-Wintle nuptials will happen abroad. The couple will fly back to be with friends for a celebration in Manila.

Except for good friends Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo, Iza has yet to reveal the other names in their entourage.

Iza’s parents have both passed on. She lost her mom in 2001; her dad Lito Calzado died ten years after, in 2011.

Singer Ice Seguerra has denied his wife, Liza Diño, has political ambitions.

He revealed this at the announcement of the eight official entries of Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP), a project of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) which is headed by Liza.

“Gusto lang niyang makatulong sa industriya ng pelikula,” Ice explained, “And obviously, na-inspire siya dahil last year, ‘yung unang sabak ng PPP, naging successful ito.

“Ako naman, I’ll support her in all her endeavors. After all, mas marami akong alam tungkol sa showbiz, compared to her. I grew up in the industry. And most everybody knows that,” he further said.

This year’s Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino will feature “Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wifi,” “The Day After Valentine’s” “Bakwit Boys,” “Pinay Beauty,” “Signal Rock,” “Unli-Life,” “Madilim ang Gabi,” and “We Will Not Die Tonight.” All of the entries will be shown nationwide starting August 15.

How sad to hear that Rhian Ramos has broken up with her non-showbiz boyfriend. Rhian and Fil-Chinese businessman Jason Choachuy were together for three years.

The actress was spotted with Tim Yap hosting the red carpet at the 2nd Eddys last Monday, July 9.

Rhian did not reveal the reason for their breakup but said she thinks it will take some time before she enters another relationship.

Also spotted at the Eddys was Rhian’s new leading man, Jolo Revilla, who presented an award with brothers Brian and Luigi at the glittering awards ceremony at the Theatre at Solaire.

Jolo, who is the current vice governor of Cavite, remains tightlipped about the true state of his romance with girlfriend of eight years, Jodi Sta. Maria. But there are whispers they are no longer together.

Whether he is still pining over Jodi and hoping for a reconciliation, we do not know.

Right now, Jolo is focused on Imus Productions’ “Tres,” directed by Richard Somes and Dondon Santos.

Coco Martin said he intends to marry in four years.

By then, he would be 40, as his birth date in November 1, 1981.

Could the bride be Julia Montes, who would be 27 years old by then?

Julia turned 23 last March 19.

Currently, the rumored sweethearts are busy with TV work. Julia is in the afternoon soap “Asintado,” while Coco rules primetime via “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.” Soon, he will start work on his Metro Manila Film Festival entry with Vic Sotto, “Popoy En Jack, The Pulis Credibles.” Aside from starring in the movie, Coco will also direct the action-comedy.

We heard Vic and Coco want Maine Mendoza in the film.
