Beauty lands a role she can’t refuse

The intense chemistry between Zanjoe Marudo and Bela Padilla is getting to be harder to ignore as their series, “My Dear Heart,” progresses.

It does seem like the TV couple might just go from reel from real.

There is really nothing wrong with that as the two are currently single. Zanjoe’s last relationship was with Bea Alonzo, who is now said to have reunited with another ex, Gerald Anderson.

Bela, meanwhile, has broken up with movie producer Neil Arce months ago. But they have remained friends, and have, in fact, collaborated to make the movie “Luck at First Sight,” which pairs Padilla with Jericho Rosales.

Bela and Jericho are currently in the thick of promotion for “Luck at First Sight,” which Neil is producing with Viva Films and Joyce Bernal Productions. And Zanjoe might soon start work on a new film assignment for Star Cinema.

Speaking of Neil, the young producer would neither admit nor deny the report that he is currently courting Angel Locsin.

Rumors linking the two started when he was spotted among the guests at the 90th birthday celebration of the actress‘ father, Angel Colmenares, in Quezon City months ago.

That time, he had already separated with Bela.

Then, Angel and Neil were spotted with some friends in Hong Kong during the Holy Week.

Beauty Gonzales is eager to settle down with art curator Norman Crisologo, the father of her year-old daughter Olivia.

They got engaged this year, but, as Beauty explained, “Dumating nga itong offer sa akin to do one of the lead roles in the upcoming series, ‘Pusong Ligaw.’ Ang ganda ng character na gagampanan ko. In short, nakakapanghinayang na ‘di tanggapin ang offer. I’m glad, when I told Norman about it, he told me to go for it.”

Gonzales had to leave her last project, “Ningning,” when she discovered that she was pregnant two years ago. “That’s why I’m grateful to ABS-CBN, because gave me another chance,” she disclosed.

Also staging a comeback of sorts in “Pusong Ligaw” is Raymond Bagatsing, who left local showbiz in 2007 to try his luck in the US. He and Joem Bascon play rivals for Beauty’s affection.

Child actor Mac Mac Briguela, popularly known as Awra, was able to purchase his dream home at age 13.

Yes, he said his dad helped him to save a portion of his earnings from “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” where he is a mainstay, and his movie project, “The Super Parental Guardians.”

“Malaki ang tulong na nagawa ng ibinayad sa akin for ‘The Super Parental Guardians’ with Vice Ganda. Lalo pa at nakatanggap ako ng bonus, dahil blockbuster ang movie,” he added.

Well, now he has a problem. For winning in “Your Face Sounds Familiar: Kids,” he got P1 million, a trip for four to Korea – and a house.

Awra and his family reportedly have yet to discuss what to do with the property.

Remember Boy Quizon 2, a grandson of the late Comedy King, Dolphy? He is one of the people behind “Luck at First Sight.”

“Actually, nag-start ako bilang supervising producer for Viva Films,” he related. “Two of the films I supervised were ‘Camp Sawi’ and ‘1,000 Days.’ I might have done well, kasi, heto at producer na ako ….”

He is excited about the movie, he said, because, “Ito ang pelikula, which, I know, my Lolo Dolphy would have loved. I hope to be able to produce more movies of this kind.”

Directed by Dan Villegas, “Luck At First Sight” opens on May 3.
