Anne Curtis wants to shed sweet image

ABS-CBN’s afternoon soap “Asintado” is not folding up soon.

The action series starring Julia Montes, Lorna Tolentino, Aljur Abrenica, Paulo Avelino, Agot Isidro and Noni Buencamino will continue airing until December of this year, according to our source.

“It is ‘Hanggang Saan,’ which features mother and son Sylvia Sanchez and Arjo Atayde, that is wrapping up soon. Set to replace it on its timeslot is ‘Precious Hearts Romances: Araw-Gabi,’ which will star JM de Guzman and Barbie Imperial,” said our informant.

“Araw Gabi” marks the comeback of JM after a two-year hiatus.

“Common knowledge na twice akong kinailangang magpa-rehab due to substance abuse,” he said. “Noong una, I was obviously not yet totally rehabilitated when I left rehab. And, perhaps, anxious ako to just go back to being free again.

“It was during my second confinement that I realized I needed to totally free myself from drug abuse, not only for my loved ones – for my mother, especially – but also for myself.

“I’ve realized now that when it comes to seeking approval, it should primarily come from me,” he stated.

Actress and host Anne Curtis reportedly is open to the idea of playing Valentina, superhero Darna’s arch nemesis, on the big screen.

Of course, Darna will be played by Liza Soberano, the reason reportedly why she was unceremoniously “killed” in her role as Ganda in ABS-CBN’s primetime series, “Bagani.”

At the helm of “Darna” is Erik Matti, who, incidentally, is also the director of Anne in the action movie, “Buy Bust,” set to be released this year.

If ever she lands the role, Anne has to project a menacing image.

“Iyan nga ang matagal ko nang gusto – ang mag-create ng bagong image for myself, lalo na on the big screen,” she said.

“Sinimulan ko na sa pelikula kong ‘Buy Bust,’ where I have a lot of action scenes. My leading man is Brandon Vera, a martial arts expert,” she added.

“Buy Bust” was purchased by a foreign film distributor and will be distributed via Netflix internationally.

If she indeed joins the cast of “Darna,” Anne might have to put on hold starting a family.

The actress, who turned 33 last February 17, married chef Erwan Heusaff in New Zealand on November 12, 2017.

Coleen Garcia is obviously 100% focused on the final details of her summer beach wedding to host Billy Crawford.

And Billy is happy Coleen understands why she solely has to be the one working closely with their wedding planner.

“The groom is swamped with work,” observed a kibitzer. “Aside from hosting the daily noontime show, ‘It’s Showtime,’ he co-hosts ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ with Toni Gonzaga every weekend. May bago pang game show siyang ihu-host, probably after the wedding. Ito ‘yung the new season of ‘Your Voice Sounds Familiar.’”

Billy and Coleen will exchanged “I dos” in Balesin in Quezon Province. Only their closest friends and relatives are invited to the nuptials.

We heard the groom’s American dad and Filipina mom, who both reside in the US, might not be able to attend the wedding.

Most of the details have remained hush-hush. We only know of the participation of actress Ria Atayde, Coleen’s cousin who will also be part of the entourage.

Ria is a daughter of actress Sylvia Sanchez.

As of now, Albert Martinez, who is turning 57 on April 19, has no desire to replace his late wife, Liezl Sumilang, who passed away three years ago.

But, who knows what will happen in the future? he also said.

Right now, aside from being busy with showbiz, the actor is focused on his and Liezl’s three children. He is currently in the US with son Alfonso and  daughter Alissa to visit his panganay, Alyanna, a new mother.

Alyanna now permanently resides in America with her husband, photographer  Roy Macam, and their new daughter, Adalynn Riley.

Before he left for abroad, Albert made sure to shoot all his scenes in “Bagani.” However, he regrets not being in the Philippines for the ending of his other show, the primetime series “The Good Son,” which ends tonight, April 13. Although Albert is not frequently seen in it, the story revolves on his character because he plays the father whose mysterious death caused a big problem to the two families he left behind.

Playing the sons in the series are Joshua Garcia, McCoy de Leon, Nash Aguas and Jerome Ponce. Also in the cast are Eula Valdez, Liza Lorena, Mylene Dizon, Ronnie Lazaro, John Estrada, Alex Medina, Jojit Lorenzo, Lovely Rivero and young female talents Elisse Joson, Alexa Ilacad and Loisa Andalio.
