‘Gwapulis’ Chris Dulagan is ready for Man of the World 2017

THE inaugural “Man of the World” international pageant, which advocates to empower the youth through education, presented the 40 delegates to members of media at Icon Hotel EDSA in Quezon City last Wednesday.

The Philippines is represented by Chistopher “Chriz” Comicho Dulagan, a 24-year-old inspector from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and a native of Sagada, Mountain Province. Standing 5’10”, Chriz is the third “gwapulis” to win a national pageant title and compete internationally.

Neil Perez aka PO3 Mariano Flormata Jr. started the streak, topping the Misters of Filipinas pageant and eventually became the first Pinoy Mister International titlist in Ansan, Korea, in February 2015. PO2 Don McGyver Cochico followed, and competed in Manhunt International 2016 in Shenzhen, China, where he finished in the Top 16.

As the host delegate, Chriz, a proud Igorot, welcomed delegates from all over the world who are now gathered in Manila to make a solid stand to empower the youth by visiting schools and teaching children about the value of education.

“I am very excited to represent the Philippines and to display the warm hospitality of Filipinos. I am ready to welcome them and show the beauty of the Philippines and its wonderful people,” he said.

Carlo Morris Galang, president of Prime Events Productions Philippines Foundation, Inc. (PEPPS) which is producing the international tilt, expressed his gratitude for all the support that the pageant has been receiving from various stakeholders.

“This is one pageant that we can be truly proud of,” he shared. “In the pageant world, it does not matter if we come from different organizations because our main thrust is to uplift male pageantry in the Philippines and the world to eventually earn the respect and trust of the public.”

Man of the World has received support from the PNP, Department of Tourism and the provincial government of Negros Oriental and its various LGUs.

The 40 delegates are now in Negros Oriental 25 where exciting adventures, activities, and the swimwear and national costume competitions will be held.

Chriz will be wearing the artistic creations of award-winning designer Edwin Uy for his national costume, and Olan Roque for his formal wear.

The preliminary competitions will be held at House Manila in Resorts World Manila on July 26, while the awaited grand finale will be held at One Esplanade in Pasay on July 28.
