‘Binibini’ finalist to vie for Top Model of the World in Egypt

CHRISTAGALE Borja will be the country’s official delegate to the Top Model of the World Pageant to be held in Cairo, Egypt from July 2-15, 2017. The 26-year-old, 5’11” beauty who represented Catbalogan, Samar at the 54th Binibining Pilipinas pageant last April will join about 100 delegates worldwide for the annual pageant and modeling search.

Christa was a top 15 finalist and won the Manila Bulletin’s Readers’ Choice Award at the recent Bb. Pilipinas Pageant.

She moved to Great Britain with her family when she was 14 and eventually graduated with first honors from St. Mary’s University in London. She has worked as a fashion merchandiser for top fashion boutique Marks & Spencer before pursuing her ultimate passion of joining Bb. Pilipinas.

Christa trained under Rodgil Flores of Kagandahang Flores pageant camp.

The 24th Top Model of the World finals will be held at Ancient Sands Resort in El Gouna, Egypt on July 14.

Best wishes also to Natasha Angela Lim Manuel of Cebu, Charmaine Tenorio Hernandez of Taguig, and Denielle Joie Magno of Dagupan City, the Philippines’ delegates to the 2017 Miss ASEAN Friendship Pageant to be held at Sao Mai Theater in Vietnam on July 1.

Natasha was crowned as Jewel of the Philippines last year while Charmaine was Mutya ng Taguig 2012 and Miss Philippines Earth candidate in 2013.

They were sent to Vietnam by pageant trainer and director John de la Vega.

The Miss ASEAN Friendship 2017 pageant is being held as part of the 50 years celebration of the founding of the Association of South East Asian Nations.

Thirty contestants, three per country, will vie for the title.

The Miss ASEAN delegates will also participate in the ASEAN Youth Festival also in Vietnam.

Good luck wishes also go to the 22 contestants of Miss Global Philippines 2017, which will hold its coronation night at Resorts World Manila’s Newport Performing Arts Theater tomorrow, June 24.

The pageant, now on its fourth year and spearheaded by the mother-and-daughter tandem of Riza Lao and Pauline Sofia Laping, held its last major preliminary events at Resorts World Manila’s Atrium Plaza last Tuesday where Mary Ann Mungcal of

Arayat, Pampanga won the Best in Evening Gown award while Maria Josephine Araullo of Navotas was named Best in Cultura Attire. Araullo wore an exquisite terno created by Marvin Garcia.

Among the favorites to bag the title are: Jacqueline Mayoralgo of Makati City, Diane Abigail Santiago of Valenzuela City, Rowena Sasuluya of Bulacan, Sharmaine Aller of Caloocan and Mungcal.
